Concert Cancelled due to Covid Alert Levels.
Hamilton Civic Choir has taken the sad decision to cancel this concert. Any tickets already purchased will be refunded either via iticket if you purchased through that avenue, or if you purchased directly from a choir member you will be refunded by the choir. Please allow us a little time to sort through this as understandably our committee members are working from home at the same time as trying to arrange this.
Thanks for your patience and understanding- We will be back with a new concert November 13th at St Peter’s Cathedral- Musique Francaise.
HAMILTON CIVIC CHOIR PRESENTS A CONCERT OF SOME OF OUR FAVOURITE WORKS FROM THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS
“ENCORE”
On Saturday 28th August at 5:00pm at St Peter’s Cathedral, Hamilton, and on Sunday 29th August at 2:30pm at Cambridge Town Hall, the Hamilton Civic Choir warmly welcomes you to enjoy a few of our favourite short songs from over the past few years.
We will present a concert which is sure to warm everyone’s spirits through this chilly winter season, featuring music that audiences and choristers have enjoyed. The concert ranges from some of the very earliest music in the choral repertoire, including Orlando Gibbon’s Madrigal The Silver Swan, and the playful and flirtatious pastoral Fair Phyllis I Saw by John Farmer, to American classics and spirituals Wade in the Water arranged by Mark Hayes, and the heartbreaking Shenandoah arranged by James Erb, all the way to contemporary choral favourites, including Sure on this Shining Night by Morten Lauridsen, Ubi Caritas by Ola Gjelo and the nostalgic Goodnight Dear Heart by Dan Forrest.
We are directed for this concert by the youthful and vibrant Nicholas Forbes, who is sure to bring a new vision to these staples of our repertoire – ensuring a fresh sound for you all, and a concert that will bring the warmth of music to a cold winter weekend!
