Hamilton Civic Choir is joined by invited school choirs from St Paul’s Collegiate, St Peter’s Cambridge and Waikato Diocesan School for Girls to bring 140 voices together in a performance of Fauré’s Requiem at the St Paul’s Collegiate chapel on October 14th at 7:30pm.
The piece is accompanied by a chamber orchestra, harp and organ, all handpicked by conductor Timothy Carpenter with Assistant Musical Director Francis Cowan playing a central role. The Choir will be proudly working with well known Waikato soloists Ian Campbell and Hannah Bryant. There is a special connection between the soloists and schools as both Campbell and Bryant teach at each of the schools.
Each of the school choirs will present their own work in 15 minute segments and the Civic Choir will bring the Barber Agnus Dei to the stage, another well known work requiring superb control.
