As we wrap up another memorable year, we want to offer our sincere thanks to everyone who has supported Hamilton Civic Choir — our singers, audiences, collaborators, donors, and the wider Waikato community. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and shared love of choral music have shaped a year full of connection and beautiful music‑making.
We’re stepping into 2026 with excitement as we celebrate a milestone close to our hearts: Hamilton Civic Choir’s 80th anniversary. It’s a rare privilege for any choir to reach such a moment, and we’re looking forward to marking it with a concert series that reflects our history, our community, and our future.
Here’s what’s coming up in our anniversary year:
- April ANZAC Concert Featuring A Song of Remembrance by local composer Janet Jennings — a moving work honouring courage, sacrifice, and memory.
- June Collaboration with St Peter’s Cathedral A special fundraising performance supporting the rebuild of this much‑loved Hamilton landmark.
- September 80th Anniversary Celebration A major concert at Cambridge Town Hall marking eight decades of choral music in the Waikato.
- December performance of Handel’s Messiah A festive-season tradition and a powerful way to close our anniversary year.
Thank you for being part of our journey — whether you’ve sung with us, listened to us, or supported us from near or far. We wish you a joyful, music‑filled New Year, and we can’t wait to share our 80th anniversary celebrations with you throughout 2026.
See you in the concert hall!
